Seven Years, One Car, 1100 Miles

The 2005 Ford Freestyle.

4000lbs of extreme grocery getting with a capacity to seat 8 and the ability to haul at least 6 Kanstul Contra Marching Tubas to the music store at one time. Such a great vehicle that they only made it for three years. It's totally vintage and totally cool.

And now it's holding the contents of the last seven years of my life.

Ok ok, I did sell some things, I donated some old clothes, and I did ship my headdress in a box to my mom's (I'm not squishing that thing...no way) - but other than that everything is in there.

Let's inspect.

From a distance, it looks pretty unassuming.

But get a little closer and...

Nailed it!

First, I'm convinced that if I didn't own books and instruments there would be practically nothing in that car at all. Trying to find the space for the entire recorded Mozart library and my trumpet materials was a struggle in itself BUT I've been told that owning books and playing instruments makes you considerably more popular and will result in your having way more friends - so I'm not parting with any of that stuff.

You'd be amazed by the little nooks and crannies that you can stash things in a car of this size. There are shoes under seats, books in the glove box and valve oil in the cup holders. That thing is chalk full of goodies. My packing savvy even resulted in my being able to safely see out the back and check my blind spots.

Proof.

I'm road ready. 1100 miles to go.
